PHA Nurse's Office
At the start of quarantine, a friend’s parent mentioned that the nurse’s office at his school Prospect Hill Academy needed to be quickly redesigned to be covid compliant. However, they had to minimize the unplanned cost and therefore couldn’t hire an architect. I offered to give it a try not only to help the school but because it seemed like a fun activity during the boredom of quarantine. I was provided floor plans of the space and played around with some design ideas. But the project quickly turned into reality when I met with the school nurse over zoom to incorporate her needs. In the end, my plan needed to include a waiting room, a separate office with windows, an added sink, and an isolation room. The school required that the cost be kept extremely low and the renovations in-house. In the end, I presented multiple options to the nurse and school administrators, and I am proud to say that the space I had designed was built within a few weeks.
